Candy-Free Easter Baskets

Happy first day of March! Spring is just around the corner and we've had a few days to give us a preview of just that: sunshine and being outside, which has made all the difference in our house. We host Easter every year, which has become one of my most favorite holidays, and I love putting baskets together for the kids and their cousins when they come to visit. Since the day is typically filled with treats I'm keeping the candy out of the baskets this year, and came up with some other fun stuffers that will get use past just the holiday weekend. I like to shop early and get them put together before everything starts to sell out, especially on the pajama front. Sharing with you here some of the things I scooped up or some big hits from years past!

Bubble Wands: these make the BIGGEST bubbles and we re-up on these every spring.

Bunny Peek a Boo Activity Puzzle: The sweetest find from this year. The player (kiddo) selects a card and is prompted to make the blocks and bunny  look like the card. There are various degrees of difficulty, so this activity grows with your child and can be played as early as 2 years old.

Paint-Your-Own Butterfly Magnets: A cute little springtime activity. I like to move all painting outdoors to keep messiness at bay. I like that these little magnets serve a purpose and will decorate my fridge as opposed to a disposable or junky basket stuffer. Scooped these up for both boys.

Peter Rabbit Plush: I mean, how can you not? This one is the perfect size for Easter baskets and for little hands to hold. Added bonus: if you’ve recently seen the Peter Rabbit movie, like us, this will be an even bigger hit.

Hop to Bed PJs: Love that these come in a pack of two, both just as adorable. Note: they tend to run small, so size up.

Bunny Elbow Patch PJs: We got these last year for the boys even though they say they’re for girls (not sure why). So sweet with a vintage feel.

Monarch Wings: Love these for spring time dress-up and imaginative play.

Find It Game: This is great for car rides. The bottle has various hidden objects which the cards prompt you to find by twisting, shaking, or turning the bottle upside down.

Bunny Popper: Another huge hit from last year. This little bunny launches these foam balls across a few rooms or an even longer distance outside. The kids love popping them over and over again.

Ribbon Wands: I can see these turning into swords in our house, but at least they’ll be pretty.

Bunny Fruit Snacks: Our go-to for a sweet treat, but organically made and with less sugar than typical Easter candy. I especially love that they’re in bunny shapes and match the holiday.

Maze Plate: A must-have for any picky eater. This compartmentalizes the food that’s served at mealtime, which is proven to encourage eating. Said picky eater eats his way through the maze to make it to the prize (dessert) at the end.

Porcelain Bunny Nightlight: We got this for Oskar a few Easter Baskets ago and is the sweetest little nightlight that always comes back out this time of year. It sits on his shelf and gives off the perfect amount of light at bedtime.
